Faith Leader Letter to help prevent gun violence – sign on today

Ecumenical Ministries of Oregon invites Oregon faith leaders from all religious backgrounds and all parts of our state to sign onto a letter in support of two bills currently being considered in the Oregon Senate.
Read the letter we wrote with our partners at Lift Every Voice Oregon to express support for two important measures that would make concrete improvements to our state’s gun safety laws. There is more work to be done, but these are important steps our legislators must pass this spring.
If you’re a faith leader in Oregon, please sign onto this letter through the form here. Please consider inviting some clergy friends to sign on, too.
If you’re not a faith leader, please share this invitation with your imam, rabbi, lama, teacher, pastor, priest, chaplain, or other leader.
We are hoping to gather signatures by May 13, to deliver this letter to our Senators that week as part of their deliberation on the bills. We need signatures from clergy all across the state, so please sign on today!
This letter was written by leaders at Ecumenical Ministries of Oregon and Lift Every Voice Oregon, but it is intended as a way to help lift your voice for peace. Our common goal is to reduce the trauma, injuries, and deaths caused by gun violence. We must reach across party lines and religious differences, in every part of our state, to work together and move forward. There are many ways to work toward a safer future, and we each have a role to play.
Thank you for helping us make our community safer, one step at a time.
