The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s Oregon chapter is sponsoring a Soul Shop™ suicide prevention training.
This one-day training provides core guidance for faith leaders to respond to suicidality and other impacts of desperation in their communities. This training is appropriate for those who lead a faith community (e.g., Pastor, Rabbi, Imam, Deacon, Minister) or those who are in a leadership or teaching role with members of a faith community (e.g., youth minister, spiritual teacher). It is also appropriate for several leaders in a single faith community to attend.
Michelle Snyder, Soul Shop Director, joined the Soul Shop team in 2014 and will be leading this workshop. Michelle has dual training in mental health (Masters in Social Work, Licensed Clinical Social Worker) and theology (Masters in Divinity).
The cost is $50 (includes meals and materials, scholarships available).
