Custodian (HIV Day Center)

PURPOSE: To provide custodial services for the HIV Day Center and to provide assistance and support to other program staff in order to facilitate the daily operation of the EMO HIV Services.
ACCOUNTABILITY: To the mission and goals of Ecumenical Ministries of Oregon (EMO) as determined by the Board of Directors, and as administered by the President and his/her delegates.
REPORTS TO: HIV Services Program Manager
DIRECT REPORTS: None
LOCATION: EMO’s HIV Day Center and other sites as needed.
CLASSIFICATION: Non-exempt, on-call, work days Monday-Friday, with approximate hours 1 to 3 p.m.
BENEFITS: Salary starts at $15.00 hourly. All regular employees (does not include on-call or temporary) are eligible for vacation, holidays, sick leave, 401(k) retirement plan, employee assistance program and employee trainings. Employees in exempt positions or non-exempt positions that are 20 hours per week or more, also receive medical insurance, dental insurance, disability insurance and life insurance, per eligibility requirements.
- Clean the Day Center at the end of each day in order to provide and maintain a pleasant and sanitary living environment for Day Center clients and to meet Day Center obligations to regulatory agencies and to the Ainsworth United Church of Christ.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to work within the mission, vision and ethics of EMO, and maintain an understanding of the services provided by the programs and projects of EMO.
KNOWLEDGE: Experience working with appropriate cleaning materials, chemicals and tools to perform the necessary tasks to maintain the physical space of the EMO HIV Day Center.
SKILLS: Ability to work both independently and collaboratively; excellent oral and interpersonal skills with the ability to listen to and affirm people from a wide variety of backgrounds and circumstances; treat all individuals with respect and dignity.
EFFORT: Able to meet all physical requirements of work assignments.
RESPONSIBILITY: Ability to maintain a calm, professional demeanor.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Ability to work in a respectful manner with people of diverse ethnicity, socio-economic circumstances, religion, culture and sexual orientation; High tolerance for ambiguity and change.
