PURPOSE: To coordinate and supervise the community ministries program managers / directors including the Slavic Oregon Social Services (SOSS), NE Emergency Food Program (NEFP), HIV Services, Second Home, Sponsors Organized to Assist Refugees (SOAR), and SOAR Immigration Legal Services.
ACCOUNTABILITY: To the mission and goals of Ecumenical Ministries of Oregon (EMO) as determined by the Board of Directors, and as administered by the President and their delegates.
REPORTS TO: EMO President
DIRECT REPORTS: Community Ministries program directors and managers
LOCATION: All EMO program sites
CLASSIFICATION: Full-time, Exempt
BENEFITS: Salary range starting at $79,527 annually. All regular employees (does not include on-call or temporary) are eligible for vacation, holidays, sick leave, 401(k) retirement plan, employee assistance program and employee trainings. Employees in exempt positions or non-exempt positions that are 20 hours per week or more, also receive medical insurance, dental insurance, disability insurance and life insurance, per eligibility requirements.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee Community Ministries operations and supervise the program directors / managers; and promote collaboration and integration between the programs.
- Evaluate the performance of the programs on a continuing basis – reporting progress, accomplishments and concerns, and recommending implementations and modifications to the President and the Community Ministries Committee
- Provide staff leadership for the Community Ministries Committee.
- Act as a community liaison in support of the Community Ministries programs.
- Evaluate opportunities for new programs, process through appropriate committees, and implement funding and development of programs that are approved.
- Process hiring of program management replacements, oversee hiring of additional program staff and mentor program management new hires; and oversee MSW intern recruitment, orientation, and supervision.
- Conduct new employee orientations and employee exit interviews, reporting to the President any specific or reoccurring concerns from the exit interviews.
- In cooperation with the Director of Finance, oversee the programs budgets and financials.
- Assist directors/managers in planning and implementing fundraising efforts.
- Work with the Director of Development and grants team to determine grant application allocations and support other development efforts.
- Oversee development of trauma informed care throughout EMO’s direct service system.
- Develop core management and staff training plan.
- Address client concerns when they reach the executive level.
- Oversee non-program-specific project development.
- Fulfill other responsibilities as assigned by the President.
QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to work within the mission, vision and ethics of EMO, and maintain an understanding of the services provided by the programs and projects of EMO. EMO requires all of staff to be vaccinated however medical and religious exemption requests will be considered for this position.
KNOWLEDGE: Three years progressive administrative experience in the field of direct services; Experience in management of diverse non-profit operations and finances; Training in Trauma-Informed Care; Must possess valid driver’s license and evidence of insurability; Experience working with faith communities.
SKILLS: Demonstrated professional management / leadership skills in a social services environment, including financial, personnel, and client service functions; Ability to collaborate effectively with staff, volunteers, clients, related service providers, and appropriate community entities; Ability to create/maintain a productive and respectful work environment; Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills with the ability to listen to and affirm people from a wide variety of backgrounds and circumstances, especially to treat all individuals with respect and dignity.
EFFORT: High level of personal motivation and self-discipline in achieving project objectives; High level organization and prioritization skills and ability to maintain a calm, professional demeanor.
RESPONSIBILITY: Demonstrated ability to work independently while maintaining a close relationship with supervisors and with the broader organization; Demonstrated ability to supervise multiple employees, manage multiple projects, and meet necessary deadlines.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Graduate degree in social work, community development, community ministry or other appropriate field.
